This one-day itinerary moves from the Ben Youssef Madrasa to the Almoravid Qubba, through the souks and Jemaa el-Fna, then down to the Koutoubia, Bab Agnaou, the Saadian Tombs, El Badi Palace, and Bahia Palace.
Begin the morning in the historic heart of the Medina at Madrasa Ben Youssef . Explore its central courtyard, student rooms, carved cedar, stucco decoration and zellige craftsmanship.
Walk to the nearby Almoravid Koubba, one of the rare surviving monuments from the Almoravid period and an important link to the origins of Marrakech.
Continue south through the Medina's traditional souks. Observe workshops, narrow streets, fondouks and traditional commercial life while heading toward Jemaa el-Fna.
